May 2023, Translation Services for a Hmong Family
In May 2023, Hmong Families and Communities provided translation services to replace a water heater for a Hmong family.
The old water heater was nearly 10 years old and previous attempts to fix and repair the old unit we no longer working. We contacted a local heating and cooling company to troubleshoot the old unit. After a quick diagnostic, the company determined that the old unit’s upper heating coil was no longer functioning and was causing the unit itself to trigger an error code. The Hmong family decided to replace the whole unit and purchase a yearly warranty.
Hmong Families and Communities was present with the Hmong family throughout the whole event. During our stay, we provided summary translation between the company and the Hmong family to ensure both parties understood each other.
